For those who have spare cash to burn we have found the perfect place for you – the $A4 billion Westfield Mall in West London that was opened today by new London Mayor Boris Johnson. This is anything but your average shopping arcade: not only is it the largest in London but it has managed to beat all of its competitors across Europe.

Fortunate enough to attend the opening, Simon Turner commented that the scale and “bling” of Australian Frank Lowy’s latest offering is quite spectacular.

The mall, with 265 shops – including Tiffany and Gucci – a 14-screen movie theatre, 50 restaurants, a gym, spa, a library and 4,500 parking spaces, also has a concierge team of 60 who speak 14 languages. With the luxury-minded shopper in mind, the mall has Valet parking as well as hands-free shopping and a chauffeur service.

The Westfield Executives are confident their mall will prove to be a hit in the long run and in spite of the credit, the mall expects to have 25 million shoppers each year as most of the shops are rented out already. Simply stunning! Christine Watson.
